Brazil Project information


We have started to learn about Brazil and the students have been assigned their project topics.  We will begin working on the reports in class, and it is helpful if the student does some research at home, and also starts to work on their visual aid.

October 7-11- Decide on topic, research, and take notes

October 14-18- Write rough draft, peer edit
    Work on hands-on project* with parent at home

October 22- Rough draft of research paper due

October 29 - Final draft of research paper due
                    Visual aid due in class

October 30- In class presentations 9:15-10:05 in class (parents are welcome)

November 1- International Day Parade and Celebration

Field Trip information!


Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

8:30am- Depart MLCA 
10:00-1:15- Activities and lunch at the Pumpkin Patch
1:15- Depart for MLCA
2:30- Arrive back at school


Information from the Pumpkin Patch about what you will need:
 Students:
  • All students must wear long pants and covered shoes  (THIS IS A SAFETY PRECAUTION) and a MLCA (or KCA) T’shirt!
  • Sunscreen to be applied prior to arriving to the farm.
  • Students that are susceptible to hay fever allergies should consider taking medications prior to leaving their home.  
  • Please bring rain jackets or parkas suitable for cool misty weather - the weather at farm varies from day to day.
  • Change of clothes
  • Drinking water
  • Lunch – we ask that all students who plan to eat lunch at the farm take their opala home with them. Students should also pack a snack. 
  • Big Smiles






Electronics will be allowed on the trip. However, they can be used only to listen to music, read, or watch school appropriate movies (cartoons, ect.)  Students will not be allowed to plays games on their devices.  Please NO phones!  Appropriate devices include: Ipads, Ipods, and Kindles.   We are NOT responsible if the electronic breaks, or is stolen.

Welcome to the third grade!

Aloha and welcome to the third grade!  This year, as you can tell by the blog title, we are going to learn, love, and have a few adventures along the way.  I am very excited about the year, and I can't wait to get the year started.  I will see you all on Monday.
